Another important movie, maybe the first, to cement the Holocaust narrative into the American mind was Judgement at Nuremburg in 1961, written by a Jew, directed by a Jew, with an all-star cast headed by lapsed Catholic Spencer Tracy. Powerful, well-made, well-acted movie, but fiction. I think that must have been the Shindler's List of that time. Who' was going to argue with Spencer Tracy and Burt Lancaster?
