Our business, 15 Mile Machine manufactured this tow-able back hoe made from plans our customer provided. We have a complete machine shop with cnc turning capabilities. Others with minimal equipment and welding capabilities have also built this same unit. There is definitely some time involved. Since my customer was also a friend and he was in no hurry I worked on it in between things as I had time. I this short video after extending the boom the machine tips forward. The wheel socket tubes are made to unpin and be replaced with the out riggers which we had not put in place. The wheels are transferred to the back of the machine and the operator can pull the machine around a work site after raising the boom end to lift the outriggers clear of the ground. We made the bucket with digging teeth also. It is powered by a single cylinder diesel engine driving the hydraulic pump. On first start up the valve body sprayed out fluid between the sections. We resolved that by tightening the sections together beyond the spec. assembly torque.
